4. Relevant news items.

  • Time magazine recently ran their version of the prefab story.
  • The New York Times recently ran a prefab item. Here is a syndicated version at SFGate.
  • CNN ran a TV segment on modernist prefab on May 5. There is an intro page here but the most relevant video segment is a broken link (which money.cnn.com don't seem particularly motivated to fix...).
  • HousingZone has a piece on the Dwell Home and Ralph Rapson's work at Wieler homes.
  • The May/June 2004 issue of Metropolitan Home magazine lists "prefabitation" in their Design 100 Ultimate Style Guide (page 122). Noted projects include WeeHouse, LV Home, upHouse! and work from Edgar Blazona, Jennifer Siegal and LOT-EK.
  • Recently the Marin Independent Journal ran a story on Michelle Kaufmann's Glidehouse. It has since been archived and is now only available for paying archive subscribers.
